Meet You On Your Mat

Our teachers are 200-hour registered yoga teachers that come with a wealth of experience and are passionate about holding a safe and comfortable space for novice to advanced yoga students. Come find your breath and join us in a boutique, small group yoga setting. Classes include breath-work, essential oils, thoughtful sequencing, and meditation. Private yoga hours are also available if you would like to deepen your practice in a one-on-one environment.  All levels are welcome to class or private sessions.

Drop in for one class at a time or invest in a monthly package to invest in your self-care at the best value. 

Why yoga at Urban?

  • Classes are capped at 10 to maintain a small group setting and a small student to teacher ratio.
  • As a current client of UFS, expand upon your personal training foundation with yoga. Practice with a teacher who is privy to your personal goals, limitations, and needs while designing class with you in mind.
  • As a new member of the UFS community, let your teacher get to know you! Join our studio family and practice in a boutique, welcoming, clean, and safe setting.

Yoga Services

Monday Night Yin

Mondays 7-8 pm

Yin Yoga: Find your breath and hold postures for minutes (often 3-5) as you center your intention and practice a slow-moving meditation. In yin, the joints and connective tissues are nourished through stillness in different poses, allowing gravity to have the body and the breath to stay long to find deeper balance and calm in the body and mind. Spend most of the class on the floor, and use props for supporting your body to an appropriate edge in each posture and breathing into it. Open to all levels, no experience required.

First Class $15

Single Class: $22

1 Month Membership for Yin Yoga: $70

1 Month Unlimited for Yin Yoga and Slow Flow Class: $115

Mat Rental: $3

Slow Flow Saturday

Saturday's 10-11am

Slow Flow: Build awareness and blood flow as you link movement with breath in a mindful, all-level class. Shake out the kinks from the week to kick off your weekend feeling rejuvenated, calm, and capable. Open to all levels.

Book a Private Yoga Hour

Invest in your own practice in a private setting with one-on-one attention on your mat.  All ages and ability levels are welcomed and encouraged.

Join Us!

Sign up and Class Reqs

  • Please sign up via mindbodyonline. Spots are limited to maintain an intimate setting - sign up early!
  • Bring your yoga mat or rent one ($3) from the studio and a water bottle. Feel free to fill up with filtered water once you arrive.
  • Please arrive 5 minutes early to give yourself time to settle in.
  • For first time clients of UFS, please arrive 15 minutes early to sign up, and go over any pertinent health information. Email hi@urbanfitnessstudio.com if you have any questions

Katie Arnold

Position: 200-Hour Registered Yoga Teacher
Hometown: Bloomington, Indiana

Katie is born and raised in Bloomington Indiana. She enjoys the outdoors and being active. Especially with her young son, Elia. She enjoys hiking, gardening, being near the water, & generally anything to keep moving. Katie has enjoyed these activities her whole life.  Growing up in Bloomington, she played softball with Girls Inc. and in high school at Bloomington High School North. Katie graduated from Bloomington North in 2002. 
 
Katie is a registered Yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance. In 2018, Katie became a 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher through Nourishing Heart Yoga (NHY) with Matece Skow. Since then, Katie continues to teach weekly classes and workshops.  Katie enjoys teaching yoga that is accessible and joyful for all. Her students include a large range of ages, from adolescent to older age. Katie enjoys creating space that feels safe and loving. Allowing space for her students to feel comfortable and supported in their health and growth is her goal. Using breath, mindfulness, alignment & meditation to foster the cultivation of a yoga practice both on and off the mat. 

Join Katie for yin yoga on Monday night's or for a private lesson to deepen your practice. Katie's warmth invites her students into a deeper mind-body connection from the start to end of class with her professionalism, kindness, and high level of teaching.

Lindsay Gervino 

Position: 200 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher
Alma Mater: Northeastern University, B.S. in Business Administration; Cambridge College, M.Ed. in Counseling Psychology
Hometown: Boston, Massachusetts
 
Lindsay was born and raised in a small ocean town, Nahant, Massachusetts, approximately 10 miles north of Boston.  She graduated from Northeastern University with a B.S. in Business Administration and went on to work many years in strategic Human Resources Management for a large, multinational company.  During that time, Lindsay enjoyed her work and traveled frequently between Boston, Stamford and NYC. In 2012, Lindsay switched gears, and found her true purpose and passion within the mental health counseling field.  Lindsay has supported individuals and families within hospital inpatient and outpatient settings, public schools pre-k through grade 12, and currently at Indiana University. Go Hoosiers!  
 
Lindsay has always been a big believer in mind/body/spirit connection and healing through multiple modalities.  Lindsay has loved and practiced yoga for over a decade and recently took her training to the next level, becoming a 200 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher through Nourishing Heart Yoga with Matece Skow.  Yogic philosophies and practices resonate deeply within her soul! Lindsay is excited to share yoga with the Urban Fitness community.
 
When not working, Lindsay likes to stay active, read, cook and spend time with her littles, Andrew, 5 and Julia, 4. 

 

Join her Saturdays mornings to kickstart your weekend with blood flow, mindfulness, and compassion. Lindsay's classes are open to all-levels and invite you into a deeper level of presence.
